In this "Meet the Student Representative" interview, I detail my platform for my 2017-18 term as Student Representative to the FCPS School Board and explain what I'll be doing in my role to make sure that I am representing all students and all student viewpoints on a diverse set of issues. In the coming year, I hope to address student mental health and equity in student achievement (particularly in STEM and advanced academic programs) across the county.

Link #1:  During the summer of 2017, I interned at the United States Naval Research Lab and studied applied artificial intelligence in bacterial genomics. At the end of my summer, I authored "Validating and Improving Prokaryotic Promoter Prediction Models" to describe what I worked on for the Navy Center for Applied Research in Artificial Intelligence.

Link #2: As the Student Representative to the Fairfax County School Board, I was invited to present as part of an FCPS presentation at the Center for School Mental Health Conference in October 2017; I discussed current student-driven mental wellness initiatives that have worked in many of our county's high schools.
